A first huge thank you to TRF for allowing me to visit them a few weeks ago. This float was great way to start to my new year and have a true meditation session.
What - True Rest is a Flotation Therapy Spa. You float for an hour in a pod full of epsom salt and magnesium which acts was a natural exfoliant and eases joint pain at the same time. Where - 1144 E Champlain Dr Suite 101 Fresno, CA Why - Helps with pain relief, better sleep, and overall relaxation. My specific experience was that it helped me find a meditation in my pod.
MY REVIEW: My first visit at TRF was GREAT! The staff was so incredibly helpful, informative and made sure you were comfortable at all times. After checking in you watch a short video on what to expect during your float inside the pod. The video also recommends different postures to lay in...and what to do if you accidentally get salt in your eye. Which i did a few times...ouch. Overall I got a good hours' worth of true meditation. At first the lights were on in the pod, but I preferred them off. I found that being in complete darkness was a different experience I've never tried before, therefore it being easier to find stillness in my mind. As with any therapy you don't feel the full benefits until you get consistent with it, so I do plan on coming back!
MY Recomendations: 1. DO use the ear plugs they provide. I didn't use any my first time (not sure why) and I had water in my ear the day after! 2. DO use the blue floaty that supports your head in the pod. I found it super helpful just because my hair is very thick and weighed my head down a little. 3. DO use the spray bottle to spray your eyes in salt gets in them. Doing this in the dark was something though, lol. 4. DO use the oxygen bar! The oxygen bar very nice touch to end your float. I also had some tea and made use of the meditation journals they had provided as well. 5. TRY to NOT have caffeine before you float ;)
